About
- —Co-founded GBatteries in 2014—a battery tech company that somehow convinced Airbus Ventures, Initialized Capital, SV Angel and other great folks to invest
- —Grew it from my parents' basement (it's too cold in Canada for the garage) to 35 people over 10 years
- —Accepted into Y Combinator W2014, Silicon Valley's most exclusive tech accelerator (fun fact, this was the last batch with PG still around)
- —Made it onto Forbes 30 Under 30. The clock's since run out, but the screenshot lives on.
- —Started Typescouts in 2024 to help startups hire great remote talent without the usual headaches
- —Sometimes mentor entrepreneurs at Techstars
- —Now exploring what problems are actually worth solving
- —Based in Ottawa, Canada
- —When I'm not working, you'll probably find me at the rock climbing gym
What I'm Good At
- —Starting things from scratch (0 to 1)
- —Talking to people and actually listening to what they need
- —Making hard calls when something isn't working
- —Fundraising and selling an early idea
- —Building small, focused teams
What I'm Bad At
- —Staying focused when I get excited about too many problems at once
- —Corporate jargon and polished marketing BS
- —Dealing with bureaucracy without getting annoyed
Let's Talk If
- —You're building something real and want to talk through customer discovery, early-stage challenges, or hiring
- —You want honest feedback, not polite nodding
- —You know where the good climbing problems are
